The following paper aims to reflect upon the validity and efficiency of a pedagogical proposal for English as a Second Language teaching in regular classrooms, which brings together the Literature and the Digital Technologies. Concomitant to the analysis, we brought up to discussion the role of the literary text on the human development (LIMA, 2009), the literature as a proposal for activities inside the classroom (BORDINI; AGUIAR, 1993 and KLEIMAN, 1996), the cyberspace and its relationship with the literature (MURRAY, 2003) and a literary and cybernetic proposal for the English language teaching (BRENNER, 2014 and CHINNERY, 2014) for the so-called digital natives (PRENSKY, 2001). We will also analyze the English language status and the international language, deeply connected to the power, political, economic and identity-builder relationships; reflecting, therefore, upon the teaching and learning proposals for a fluently mastering of the language. Under this perspective, the book that entitles the paper, Aldous Huxley's masterpiece and also Shakespearian verses, Brave New World, presents a rupture with the set boundaries for teaching as well as an encouragement to change by innovating with the digital technologies and the emancipatory literature on the pedagogical practice of English language teaching.
