12 genera of Nomiinae, of which Melanomia is here described as new, are recognised from Madagascar. An illustrated key and diagnoses are provided for all 37 species. New species are: Austronomia petterssoni, A. tampoloensis, A. sphecodoides, A sikorai, Acunomia nilssoni, A. ranavalona, Macronomia brooksi, Sphegocephala rugosa, S. angavokeliensis, S. ampijoroae.
