摘要
Alcatel CIT has developed a photonic switch based on the routing of cells by wavelength. The ATM cells are switched after being wavelength encoded. The queues are formed by fiber optic delay lines in which the cells are wavelength multiplexed. Cells access the delay lines via semiconductor amplifiers used as optical gates. The entire circuit (including queue management) is controlled by an electronic control function which uses ATM cell routing tags as input information.
