ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL GEOGRAPHY TEXTBOOKS USED IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF PARANA

Environmental education is increasingly on the agenda, in the media, schools and universities, so there are laws that make it mandatory its approach. However, despite the efforts for its implementation in practice there are still difficulties, particularly in schools. This way, the article objective is to examine how environmental education is addressed in geography textbooks on the teaching elementary and high schools used by the Parana state. For this, we performed a critical analysis of four textbooks adopted by schools or indicated in the Textbook National Plan 2012. This analysis is to contribute to a environmental education of the quality within the legal standards adopted in both national and state levels.
