The Laity in the documents of the Vatican Council II

The vision of human being of the Vatican Council II situates him in the divine plan, in the project of affiliation, called to communion with God and to share his happiness (GS 21,3), the human being created in Christ, animated and quickened by the Holy Spirit (LG 3-4). Surely the Trinitarian character of the Vatican Council II is evident. The Vatican Council was the first council in the history of the Church to deal with the theology of the common priesthood and the laity. In the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium, it sets in relief the profound theology of incorporation into the church through Baptism, by which it participates in the common priesthood (LG 10), held in a relevant way through the sacraments (LG 11) and which transmits the supernatural sense of faith and the various charismas of the people of God (LG 12).
