INFLUENCE OF NONFERROUS METALS IMPURITIES ON THE STRUCTURE AND HIGH-TEMPERATURE STRENGTH OF NICKEL BASED FOUNDRY ALLOYS

摘要
The influence of nonferrous metal impurities (Pb, Bi, and so on) on the structure formation and high temperature strength properties has been examined for nickel based foundry alloys produced by equiaxial and controlled casting procedures. It is shown that an alloy with an equiaxial structure is more sensitive to impurities than is an alloy that is cast with a columnar structure, and that this is related to its structural formation characteristics. The adverse influence of impurities on the structure formation during the casting of eutectic alloys has been determined.
