摘要
Chemical vapor infiltration of Nicalon(TM) fiber bundles (approximately 500 filaments) was studied using methyltrichlorosilane to form the SiC matrix. The operating conditions were chosen to simulate those used in composite fabrication. It was determined that the deposition reaction has an activation energy of 66 +/- 20 kJ mol-1 and is first order with respect to reactant concentration.
