摘要
Higher and higher current loads are being demanded for batteries. For this reason, the mechanisms which are decisive for the discharge ability of manganese dioxide electrodes in both alkaline and organic electrolytes at higher current loads are examined. With the help of probe experiments and model calculations, it can be shown that, in the alkaline system, the resistance of the electrolyte pore system and the proton diffusion in the manganese dioxide is responsible for the voltage state and thus for the capacity. In organic electrolytes, the discharge becomes limited at an early stage, particularly in the case of higher loads, by the electrochemical decrease of the electrolyte concentration in and on the electrode. © 1990.
