Modern imaging of pancreatic tumors

Imaging plays a key role in the diagnosis of pancreatic masses. However, the various imaging modalities offer complimentary information and are performed in different clinical departments. Thus, it is not always simple to choose the most appropriate imaging technique depending on disease patterns and the clinical scenario. This article provides an overview of different imaging modalities that are applied for the diagnosis of pancreatic tumors and offers a diagnostic algorithm. In addition, the most common pancreatic tumors are described and typical imaging features are discussed.
