摘要
In a study of the phase composition and electrochemical behavior of ternary cadmium-nickel-antimony alloys it was established that the preponderant factor in the investigated metal system is the interaction of nickel and antimony to give intermetallic compounds with various compositions that have stronger bonding of the atoms in the crystal lattice than the intermetallic complexes of cadmium with nickel. The formation of intermetallic compounds of nickel with antimony during the storage of charged cadmium electrodes with the combined additives of nickel(II) hydroxide and antimony(III) oxide leads to a decrease in the amount of the resulting intermetallic compound Cd21Ni5 and to an increase in the charge characteristics of the electrodes at low temperatures.
