摘要
Coupling of secondary amines viz. dimethylamine, diethylamine and diisopropylamine with 5,6-anhydro-1,2-O-isopropylidene-alpha-D-glucofuranose (1) afford amino sugars, 2, 3 and 4, having a tertiary amino group linked to carbon-6 of glucose moiety. Quaternization of 2, 3 and 4 with methyl iodide yield title compounds 5, 6 and 8 in quantitative yield. Likewise, 7 has been synthesized in 60% yield by reaction of 3 with benzyl chloride.
