Service-learning in teacher education: reflection as a catalyst for learning

This article presents findings that pre-service elementary education majors learned their course content while participating in service-learning experiences. This interpretive study on the sense making of these majors highlights the role reflection played in the connection between content and experience, with some education majors recognizing the catalyst effect of reflection.
