THE CHILD IN THE PSYCHOANALYST

The author discusses the omnipresence of theoretical and clinical reference to the child in the work of Freud and his successors and the very particular status of the economic equilibrium of the analyst - especially concerning repression - to propose the models of << child-in-the-patient >> and << child-in-the-analyst >> as parameters of theoretical reflection. These parameters concern the problem of the economic management of the points of impact of the instinctual excitation of the infantile part of the patient on the infantile part of the analyst. The understanding of analytic material in the dimension of both transference and countertransference can only benefit from the situating of these models as such or in interaction.
