Classical Preisach modeling computes the irreversible magnetization due to a magnetizing process, but does not compute the reversible component of the magnetization. It is desirable to have a method of determining a compatible reversible component in general as well. In order to analyze a dynamic situation correctly, we need both components so that we can compute quantities such as the demagnetizing field correctly. At present, one computes the Preisach function from the remanent loops. A simpler measurement technique could be used if we could obtain the Preisach function directly from the magnetization loops. We shall present methods of dealing with the reversible component that are compatible with the moving model and with the product model. © 1990 IEEE
