Only few decades passed after the appearance of the 1917 Bible and discussions on the necessity of new translation started. This article focuses on the principles of the 1917 Bible translation and its specifics as well :as provides critical comments and analyses several linguistic: (the Swedish language development and reader perception of the 1917 Bible translation) and extralinguistic. (textual criticism and exegetics development and access to new information sources) prerequisites for a runs 2000 Bible translation.
