摘要
Ten years after the publication of the new Slovenian translation of the. Bible more and more initiatives are felt in scholarly circles for a substantial revision of the translation. of introductions, notes, references, and other additions. But any attempt to carry out a radical revision in fact leads to a new translation of the Bible. Of special importance is the endeavour for congruity between the original and the translation in regard of style, the structure of literary forms and the tradition in vocabulary. The emphasis of this article is on a comparative evaluation of the reasons for the success of the Jerusalem Bible and on the presentation of the project of a new Slovenian translation of the Bible by considering the generally accepted results of the Jerusalem Bible on the one hand and of the established elements of Slovenian Bible translations on the other hand. In the end the article mentions also the problems of the government in the Slovenian Bible Society arising from the fact that it is not built on the principle of proportionality, valid elsewhere in the Council of Christian Churches. In this situation it is crucial for the Slovenian Bishop's Conference to regain with the new annotated translation the copyright over the official Catholic text of the Bible.
