The example of the treatment of a patient through bariatric surgery helps to define the role of the community pharmacist within a multidisciplinary team in the framework of professional development. He demonstrates his empathy and effective listening skills, establishes a connection between the patient and the health professionals and, thanks to his specialisation in micronutrition, provides guidance and support to the patient at every stage of the care.
