摘要
This paper analyzes an observation research in a small school in a small town countryside of the state of Sao Paulo. The region in which the school is located has been undergoing a quick population and economic growth whereas other neighborhoods have preserved their original characteristics. My initial questions about this school refer as to how the teachers (all of them women) would be facing the new challenges resulting mainly from having to work with children from other regions of Brazil, most of them African descent, and how these teachers would be facing the acceleration of time and ripped relations. These are symptoms of the capitalist modernity. The trying is to propose different ways for history teaching able to meet these new needs.
