摘要
Salmonella is the main pathogen responsible for foodborne disease (FDB) in the world. Chicken meat products and eggs are the main carries of this microorganism. The indiscriminated use of antibiotics in addition to providing risk population for its presence in food can also lead to selection of resistant bacterial strains different active ingredients, making it difficult to treat infections. The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial susceptibility of Salmonella strains previously isolated from samples of chicken meat products, chicken feces and human feces. Seventeen strains of Salmonella were tested for their sensibility to different active antimicrobials by disc diffusion method. There was 16 (94,1%) strains resistance to erythromycin and polymyxin B. Ten strains (58,8%) were resistant to sulfonamide and penicillin G. All strains analyzed showed multidrug resistance against antibiotics. Though the analysis of the data, it is concluded that the occurrence of multidrug-resistant strains is not a rare event, what stresses the necessity of rigorous control on the use of antimicrobials in Veterinary Medicine.
