摘要
In our country it is an obligate to screen blood bank donors for transfusion-transmitted hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitisCvirus (HCV). These screening tests are very important for the safety of transfusion and also give an idea about the prevalence of that region. In the present study, 12384 blood donors admitted to Blood Center of Adiyaman State Hospital from January 2002 to December 2008 were evaluated, retrospectively. The seropositivity rates for HBsAg and anti-HCV were found to be 3.3% and 0.3%, respectively. We believe that the results of the present study make a great contribution regarding identification of the frequency of HBsAg and anti-HCV positivity in our region.
