摘要
Nanostructures (hillocks) as small as 12 nm in diameter were made using monolayers of hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) and barium stearate (BS) on the graphite surface. Nanofabrication was done in air by applying short voltage pulses (0.1 ms, 3-6 V) to the tunnel tip. The topographic height of these structures increased from 1.0 to 1.7 nm with increasing tunneling voltage. The hillocks were stable for at least 12 h under observation. Possible local modification mechanisms are discussed.
