摘要
In this work, a comparative study for the determination of the antibiotic metronidazole was performed in two different pharmaceutical formulations by Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy and differential pulse voltammetry. The differential pulse voltammetry shows a reduction response of the antibiotic on glassy carbon electrode at 0.55 V vs. Ag/AgNO3 at san rate of 5 mVs(-1) in a Britton-Robinson Buffer at pH 4.5. Detection limit of 7.17 x 10(-7) M was achieved, and a recovery average 101.4% and 97.4% for the tablet and intravenous solution respectively. For the Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy technique, pure acetonitrile was used as solvent, and the band of the C-O Group at 1188 cm(-1) was employed for the quantification. Detection limit of 8.9 x 10(-6) M with an average recovery of 117,7% for the Tablets and 101.0% for the intravenous solution.
