摘要
In this paper, results from a large set of steady state infiltration experiments made for a small rangeland catchment are presented. We report a geostatistical characterization of infiltration variability for the new data. The scale of spatial correlation between infiltration measurements is determined to be less than 20 m. Steady state infiltration rates are linked to vegetation type and found to be variant with time. The infiltration data described in this paper are used in a companion paper (Loague, this issue) to reexcite and reevaluate the quasi‐physically based rainfall‐runoff model employed by Loague and Freeze (1985).
