Considering the biologist's formation, the accumulation of scientific knowledge about environmental problems is not enough for a full contribution of this professional in dealing with contemporary challenges relate to the environmental crisis. The teaching and learning process of environmental ethics could help the everyday biologist's practice, once it is important for a responsible decision making in his/her professional activity. We conducted a discussion on the relevance of the environmental ethics approach in the environmental problems related to undergraduate biology course, aiming to improve the biologist's formation and perception of the profession. In this context, we provide some examples of application of knowledge relating to environmental ethics in the undergraduate biology curriculum.
