摘要：

The article gives an overview of the plenary session of the scientific and practical conference 'Issues of Methodology and Methods of Monitoring Socio-Economic Development of Regions of the Russian Federation' dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the State Institution of the Republic of Mordovia 'Scientific Center for Socio-Economic Monitoring.' The basic theoretical and methodological provisions of monitoring studies of regions' socio-economic development are expounded as well as prospects for further cooperation between public authorities, local self-government bodies and scientific institutions.
