Aero-Optic Effects in Turbulent Wall-Bounded and Free Shear Flows

摘要
Large-scale eddies and related aero-optic effects in a turbulent boundary layer, free mixing layer and free round jet are considered. The results obtained are used to analyze the distortions produced in the phase function of a coherent light beam by the turbulent fluctuations of the parameters of the medium. The results of numerical calculations are compared with the experimental data and computational data obtained from the solution of Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The results obtained can be beneficial for design and optimisation of systems based on coherent optical adaptive techniques.
