A 21 year old Active Duty Marine presented with acute onset of diffuse lymphadenopathy and B-symptoms. Biopsy was conducted which demonstrated myeloid sarcoma. Myeloid sarcoma is diagnostic for AML but is only present in 2–8 % of patients with AML. Our article presents a classic presentation and histologic appearance and discusses the current status of the literature. © 2016, Springer Science+Business Media New York (outside the USA).
