Purpose of Review: This report presents an overview of the state of the art of available technologies regarding the process of biomass gasification. Recent Findings: The field of biomass conversion is relatively new, when compared with other sources of renewable energy, which has seen rapid technological advancements in recent years. The rate at which new conversion methods are developed enhances the significance of keeping up with all the new developments. Advancements in biofuel conversion technologies are rapid which increases the importance of keeping track of the new technologies and potential upgrades of existing ones. Summary: This paper will focus on the methods of biomass gasification which are currently being employed and the processes related to them. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
