This paper presents an observer-based decentralized fuzzy control technique for a class of discrete-time nonlinear large-scale systems with uncertain interconnections. The decentralized controller design problem is established for both measurable and non-measurable premise variable cases. Based on closed-loop systems with observer-based decentralized fuzzy controllers, the stability conditions with guaranteeing the maximum interconnection bound are derived for each premise variable case. Also, its sufficient conditions are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, by using two examples, the effectiveness of the proposed techniques is verified.
