On the stiffness of an electrostatic suspension in liquid

摘要
The stiffness of a spherical electrostatic suspension of a sphere in a liquid is calculated for specific shapes of electrodes. The sizes of the electrodes at which the image force does not influence the stability of the suspension are found.
