摘要
A heat-treatment method to develop a coarse-α-particle size in Ti–6Al–4V with a fully-globular (equiaxed) microstructure was developed. It comprises an initial isothermal high-temperature coarsening treatment followed by cooling at a sufficiently slow rate to avoid the decomposition of the metastable-β matrix phase. By this means, Ti–6Al–4V with an average α-particle diameter in the range of 35 to 45 μm has been developed.
