摘要
Limiting diffusion current technique has been used to obtain average mass transfer coefficients at surface of sphere placed in vertical cylinder. Effects of the Rayleigh number and ratio of height of the cylinder and radius of the sphere on the mass transfer coefficients have been studied. The data correlate well using gap between the sphere and cylinders (L) as characteristic length. A power–law relationship exists between Sherwood number (ShL) and Rayleigh number (RaL) in the studied range of RaL = 2.73 × 107 to 4.62 × 109.
