Dyonic D3-branes

We describe embeddings of a single D3-brane in generic IIB supergravity backgrounds when both electric and magnetic world-volume fields are turned on. As an application, we present a new D3-brane embedding in AdS5 × S1, dual to 1/4 BPS states of \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$ \mathcal{N} = 4\;{\text{SU}}(N) $\end{document} SYM, and use it to compute the vev of the associated Wilson line.
