摘要
Emergence delirium (ED) is a short-lived but debilitating condition that occurs typically in preschool-aged children receiving sevoflurane anaesthesia. The risk of ED can be reduced by means of pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions, such as anaesthesia with single-agent propofol. The addition of an adjuvant such as ketamine, dexmedetomidine and opioids as premedication or as part of anaesthesia should be considered to prevent sevoflurane-induced ED. © 2017, Springer International Publishing AG.
