摘要
Preoperative assessment of patients scheduled for lung resection focuses on four main areas: cardiac risk, lung mechanical function, gas exchange capacity and cardio-pulmonary reserve. Physiological measurements of lung volumes and diffusion capacity combined with lung imaging studies are helpful to estimate postoperative pulmonary function. Maximal oxygen capacity and physical fitness are better predictors of major postoperative complications and long-term survival. © 2014, Springer Science + Business Media New York.
