An electronic broadband amplifier of the feedback circuit for lasers

A modernized electronic unit for a feedback circuit of a negative feedback laser is described. The modernization of the unit resulted in expanding (approximately up to 1 GHz) the feedback circuit bandwidth. Attained characteristics together with the negative feedback effect allowed the laser to be switched to the mode locking operation, and this was demonstrated by the example of an Nd-glass laser. Upon including the broadband feedback on the basis of the developed amplifier as a component of a ΓOC-1001 laser operating in the negative feedback regime, it was possible to increase the total lasing power up to 5 J. The results obtained allow us to speak about promising practical applications of these systems.
