摘要：
The use of economic zoning as a method of regional strategic analysis is substantiated. An algorithm of macroeconomic zoning is suggested and validated using data on Russia's Far East. Within the Far Eastern macroregion, four macroeconomic zones have been identified, i.e, the Extreme North, Far North, Near North, and South, and their characteristics are given. The possible directions of economic development are determined for particular economic macrozones of the Far East. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2012.
