Effect of Activators in Production of Oxidized Asphalts

摘要：
It is shown that activators and mixtures of activators added to oxidation feedstock (vacuum resid) alter its colloidal structure and rheological properties. As a result, extreme values of the size of complex structural units are attained in the vacuum resid and the phase interface increases so that production of oxidized asphalts is enhanced and their quality is improved. Based on the results of industrial tests, the technology for enhancement of asphalt production is recommended for introduction.
