摘要
The collision of a fast (including relativistic) multiply charged ion with the simplest (hydrogen) molecule is considered on the basis of the eikonal approximation. The analytical formula for the reaction cross section, i.e., the total cross section of all inelastic electron processes in the domain where the Born approximation is inapplicable, is derived. The cross section is compared to the corresponding doubled inelastic cross sections for collisions of multiply charged ions with hydrogen atoms calculated within perturbative and nonperturbative approaches.
