The results of investigations into nonlinear, particularly, viscoelastic media under cyclic loading are generalized. The constitutive equations are studied based on the concept of amplitude potentials. Simplified models based on complex mechanical characteristics that depend on the strain or stress amplitudes, vibration frequency, and temperature are developed
