摘要:
The competitive intensity of an environment requires firms to improve their innovation performance to be sustainable in the market. This study analyses the direct effect of organisational flexibility and management support on firms’ innovation performance. In addition, the moderating effect of management support on the relationship between organisational flexibility and innovation performance is assessed. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on Likert-type scales, administered to 306 managers of tourism firms in the Arequipa region (Peru). Partial least squares structural equations were used to test the hypotheses. The empirical results show that organisational flexibility and management support positively and significantly affect innovation performance. Furthermore, management support positively moderates the relationship between organisational flexibility and innovation performance. This research proposes guidelines for managers to help enhance innovation performance through organisational flexibility and management support. Moreover, for the first time, organisational flexibility, management support, and innovation performance have been theoretically linked to tourism firms in emerging economies. © 2023, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management.
