Ti3C2Tx/AgNPs/Ti3C2Tx coated nylon/spandex fabric sensors for human detection with a wide range of application scenarios

With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), multifunctional integrated wearable smart devices are developing rapidly, but the preparation of fabric-based smart wearables integrated with motion detection, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, electrothermal property, photothermal property and hydrophobicity is still a challenge. Here, nylon and spandex blended knitted fabric (NS) was selected as a flexible substrate, which was surface modified with Ti3C2Tx under ultrasound, followed by microwave-assisted reduction of Ag+ for the deposition of AgNPs, and then finally drop-coated with Ti3C2Tx again to construct a “Ti3C2Tx-AgNPs” bilayer conductive network. The composite fabrics obtained have excellent strain sensing property (GFmax = 9 and strain range = 0–180%), pressure sensing property (GFmax = 0.28KPa−1, pressure range = 0–330KPa), EMI shielding property (SET = 62.6dB), electrothermal property (48.7 °C under infrared light with a light intensity of 100 mW/cm2), photothermal property (61.1 °C under low-voltage drive at 2.5 V) and hydrophobicity (CA = 135°).
