摘要
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is a health problem with global impact. T2D affects various systems in the body, and there is a need to discover new therapeutic lines to cope with emerging therapeutic needs because the current therapeutic options are limited. The objectives of the present study were to investigate the expression of Hsp90 and Hsp70 in the liver of diabetic rats and to compare it with the liver of control rats. A diabetic model was conducted using alloxan monohydrate (150 mg/kg). Immuno-histochemical staining for HSP70 and HSP90 was carried out using indirect immune-peroxidase protocol. Results showed that the expression of HSP90 in diabetic group was significantly upregulated compared with control group (p = 0.008), while the expression of HSP70 was downregulated in diabetic liver compared with control group (p = 0.000). Furthermore, the expression of HSP90 was more observed in vascular tissue of diabetic liver compared with the liver of control rats. The expression of HSP70 was observed in vascular system of both diabetic and control liver sections. Taken together, expression of HSP70 and HSP90 can be significantly associated with progression of diabetes and its vascular changes in the liver in induced diabetic animal model. © 2019, Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.
