摘要
Wheat taxonomy has a long history. The existence and use of competing wheat classifications and the use of different botanic names for a single species are causing confusion in the research community. Options for employing a different classification of the genus Triticum L. for molecular biological, genetic, and phylogenetic investigations; for identifying and collecting wheat accessions; and for use in breeding practice are discussed.
