A brief history of the appearance and development of vector management is given. The results of studying the system of subordinate vector management with reference vectors of the principle magnetic link-age and the rotor magnetic linkage are considered based on physical and computer models using the Matlab Simulink software package. The results of calculating transition processes in the system aimed at comparing dynamic and energy parameters and giving recommendations on reference vector selection are demon-strated. © Allerton Press, Inc., 2010.
