摘要
This paper proposes carrier-based PWM (CBPWM) methods that apply a zero sequence concept in a two-phase three-leg inverter. The total harmonic distortion (THD) and switching losses are analyzed and compared for the five CBPWM methods. The voltage and current THDs decrease when the modulation index (MI) increases in all the PWM methods. The space vector PWM (SVPWM) shows the lowest current THD. The switching losses increase linearly with an increasing MI, and the discontinuous PWM (DPWM) methods have lower switching losses than the continuous PWM (CPWM) methods such as sinusoidal PWM (SPWM) and SVPWM. Simulations and experiments are carried out to verify the performances of the CBPWM methods using a zero sequence concept.
