摘要
Text-based password authentication is the most common password authentication in the digital space. People often need help to create secure and strong passwords for their digital accounts. People with visual impairments have inherent barriers in the user interface in identifying whether the password is secure. Though the visual feedback is provided to the user, it is inaccessible to them. This paper proposes a method to assess the password’s strength and provide accessible and usable feedback to the user. We have designed a browser extension to assist visually challenged users. This method identifies whether the given password is weak, average, or strong. It also helps the user in generating a secure and robust password. The proposed model is validated empirically. We have received affirmative feedback from the visually impaired participants. From their feedback, 80% of the users were sure about the ease to use, and 82% agreed that the method was user-friendly.
