A study of prevalence of cholesteatoma in complications of suppurative otitis media

Complications of suppurative otitis media are common in developing world. Cholesteatoma has been implicated as the causative factor. We studied 76 cases of suppurative otitis media presented with complications and found that only 64% cases had cholesteatoma. Granulation were present in most of the cases of intracranial complications (16.68%).
