Grundlagen: Rezidivierende maligne und benigne Ergüsse sowie der persistierende Pneumo- und Chylothorax führen durch Kompression der Lunge zu einer erheblichen Beeinträchtigung der Lebensqualität. Die Behandlung stellt eine Herausforderung dar, die Ziele der Therapie umfassen hohe Effektivität bei möglichst geringer Rezidivrate und Belastung des Patienten.
