The advancing comprehensive intersection of industrial production with information and communication technology does not only lead to an increasing complexity but also to new constellations with a significant legal dimension. The paper thus is focussing Industry 4.0 from a legal perspective and provides an overview of particularly relevant legal questions. It provides the most important clusters and topics, considering that the legal system frequently does not keep up with technological development and hence the peculiar importance of private legal- and contract design. © 2014, Springer Verlag Wien.
